Mpinganjira returns to Wanderers bench and Nomads win
Bob Mpinganjira, the Mighty Wanderers head coach suspended by the club’s board last month, is back on the bench, and the Nomads have won again.

Mpinganjira sat with the technical panel at Silver Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Wanderers beat Silver Strikers 1-0.
By most accounts it was a low-key return. He rarely stood, and some Wanderers fans did not notice him.
Known as “Mpulumutsi” (the saviour) from his goal-scoring days as a Wanderers striker, he was suspended on 31 August. The suspension came straight after Wanderers lost 2-1 to Ekhaya FC in the Airtel Top 8 final.
While he was away, Macdonald Nginde Mtetemera took over as interim coach. The team had a rough run, losing four matches in a row, including both legs of their CAF Champions League tie with Simba Sporting Club of Tanzania.
After what it described as a thorough review of the technical setup, the Wanderers board made a dramatic U-turn and officially brought Mpinganjira back on 4 October 2026.
His return has lifted morale, the club’s report said. Wanderers are back to winning ways as teams chase maximum points in the second round of the FDH Bank Premiership.
