Mponda ‘Player of the year’ at Santos
Malawi national team captain, Peter ‘Mjojo’ Mponda has been voted Santos FC ‘Player of the Year’ by his peers.
The Malawian defender was voted despite missing a good part of the season due to injury.
Mponda has just resumed light training.
The Flames star said he was “excited” to be voted ‘Player of the Year’ when he spent a lengthy period on the sidelines nursing an injury.
Another Malawian star Tawonga Chimodzi was voted “Sportsman of the year.”-(Reporting by Malawi Democrat).
