Mtumodzi set to revamp Malawi Information Ministry

Ministry of Information and Civic Education has cleaned up its act, and the newly appointed Director of Information in the Ministry of Information, Chikumbutso Mtumodzi, is all set to retool his staff   in makeover to freshen a team he’ll lead into revamping the ministry.

Mtumodzi on  during a familiarization meeting that was organized for the ministry’s senior and junior members of staff at the directorate offices in Lilongwe urged the staff to embrace the spirit of unity, coexistence, hardworking and dedication for the ministry to achieve its mission statement.

“As a newly elected director, I hereby call upon all members of staff in the department to work together in achieving our mission statement. We must work for unity. Let’s avoid gossiping around as such attitude would derail our performance.

“From here onwards, everything that we do let’s do it to achieve what we are mandated for as employees of this ministry.

“Most of you know that I once worked in this ministry as a director. I’m ready to work with everyone so that we achieve the desired results

The new director subsequently assured people in the ministry that doors were open for them to come forward with innovative suggestions and ideas on how best to uplift operations of the ministry.

“Most of you know that I once worked in this ministry as a director. I’m ready to work with everyone so that we achieve the desired results. My door is open for consultations and let us work as a team,” said Mtumodzi.

On his part, Deputy Director for Audio Visual, Bob Chilemba, welcomed Mtumodzi and assured him of working hard to achieve desired goals for the betterment of the country.

Mtumodzi previously worked as a director in the same ministry until 2011 before he was appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Disability and Elderly Affairs.
