Mutharika to attend funeral of first cousin in Thyolo

State House has announced the death of Mrs. Harriet Namondwe, first cousin to Malawi’s President Peter Mutharika.

Mrs. Namondwe, according to State House Press Officer Chikondi Juma, died on Tuesday, March 3 2015.

Her remains will be laid to rest Thursday, March 5 2015 at Kamoto village, Traditional Authority Chimaliro in the southern district of Thyolo and President Mutharika will attend the ceremony.

“Our hearts and prayers are with His Excellency the President, the Namondwe family and the entire clan for the loss.

“May peace and comfort be with the President and the entire bereaved family during this difficult time,” said Juma in a statement issued Wednesday.
