Mwenda to launch manifesto for FA Malawi presidency bid

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Vice president James Mwenda will on Monday evening unveil his manifesto in Lilongwe, becoming a second candidate after Alufeyo Chipanga vying for the presidency at the forthcoming elections, to do so.

Mwenda, who is determined to oust the incumbent FAM president Walter Nyamilandu, said the manifesto will address issues that have been affecting football standards in the country.

The manifesto, which has the four pillars will be unveiled at Bingu International Conference Center (BICC) in Lilongwe and will be aired live on Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS)

“People should expect a manifesto that will address issues that effect our football beyond that for the first time affiliates and other stakeholders have been consulted and have contributed to the manifesto,” he said.

For the past 15 years, Walter Nyamilandu has been FAM president and has expressed his intention to seek re-election even though he said that this year will be the last in office.

Mwenda was elected Fam First Vice President in 2014 after serving as an executive member from 2011.
