Mzava’s Israel move hits a snag

Malawi’s blossoming football talent, Limbikani Mzava’s potential move to Israel’s  Hapoel Tel Aviv has hit a snag, according to Soccer-Laduma  a weekly football newspaper from South Africa.

The Malawian defender is currently in Israel attending trials in Tel Aviv where the club decided to sign the player after a single training session.

But his club Bloemfontein Celtic says the deal has hit an impasse.

Mzava: Deal facing some impasse

Celtic’s technical director, Mich d’Avray, said there is glitch impeding the conclusion of the potential deal.

“There’s a bit of confusion at the moment so I don’t have an update on him. All I know is that he is on trial in Israel,” said D’Avray.

The Israle club  reportedly made an offer of $150 000  but Celtic are reluctant to sell the player outright.

Mzava’s agent Walter Mokoena says it is now up to the two clubs to agree terms for the player.

“I have done my bit and now it is time for a club-to-club agreement. Maybe we will have a deal,” Mokoena told Kick-Off .

Celtic are still optimistic they will reach an agreement with Tel Aviv.

Mzava was brought to Celtic at the beginning of the season after impressing the technical team during the trial he attended at the club.

He was hoping for a move to Israel after his club did not register him for the current season.

However, the fulfilment of his wish depends on the agreement in the ongoing negotiations between the two clubs.
