Mzimba MP Chihaula Shawa rejoins DPP ‘after consulting constituents’

Member of Parliament for Mzimba  South East Rabson Chihaula Shawa has rejoined the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and has opted to sit on the government side of the House .

Shawa, who left DPP to join Peoples Party (PP) but stood on anindependent ticket, wrote Speaker Richard Msowoya that he had made the decision to rejoin DPP.

The Speaker announced on Thursday that Shawa “after consulting his constituents” has decided to work with DPP.

Msowoya said his office would allocate him a seat on the government side following his decision.

  7. Shawa another change golo. If you can dig deep you will find that his mother is from Southern region and father is from Mzimba. He has got mix blood. A true northerner can’t do such nonsense decision. Don’t take him serious because his head does not function properly. He must ashamed himself to be called Chihaula. In Mzimba we respect the Chihaulas.

    to central region. This party(MCP) robbed the capital city. Where in the world can a country develop becoz it has its capital city at the centre? Now after 31yrs + 20 have

When you have people like him as a leader who always keepschanging parties the way a mother changes baby’s diapers you shouldnt be surprised when you are told malawi is the poorest country in africa.   35. I think Mr. Shawa is one of the most respected MP’s in Malawi. He’s thoughtful, respectful, and decisive when it matters most. Big sigh of relief that he didn’t join MCP!
    DPP always have the interests of all three regions at heart. Unlike MCP – as evidenced during their dictatorship, when only the central region mattered.

    1. Inunso ndachitsiru chotheratu! Can you justify what you are saying? Why is Blantyre the commercial capital of Malawi? Why is UNIMA head office in Zomba? What about the high Court, MDC, ESCOM, COM, etc? Are they in the Central region?
