Mzomera claims PP losing members: Dulani faults JB’s exile
Former Peoples Party (PP)governor for the north Christopher Mzomera Ngwira has claimed many party supporters are leaving the party because of distaste for the leadership.
”These are not leaders. They were appointed through the back door this is why they do not have the support, this is why people are running away from the party,” said the Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora.
He was expelled from the party for his political manoevering to have former vice president Khumbo Kachali as leader of the party following the decision by party founder Joyce Banda to go on self imposed exile.
Party spokesman Ken Msonda refused to comment on the matter saying the party has commented on the issues many times before.
Political scientist at Chancellor College Boniface Dulani attributed the problems in the former ruling party to lack of succession plan following Banda’s decision to go on self imposed exile.
Ruling Democratic Progressive Party spokesman Francis Kasaira denied the party is destabilising the Peoples Party describing the former president Banda as a refugee.
