Mzuni FC recrowned north champs, promoted to Malawi Super League

Northern Region Premier League side Mzuzu University Football Club has again been crowned champions and promoted to the TNM Super League after Kaporo Stars shunned the second replay ordered by Football Association of Malawi (Fam) disciplinary committee.

Fam ordered a fresh replay of the disputed game after Kaporo appealed to the association against Northern Region Football Association’s ruling declaring them Simama league champs .

However, Kaporo attempted to appeal against the ruling and also told Fam that it could not raise a team to play Mzuni in Mzimba.

Kaporo even went ahead ot obtain a court injunction on Friday stopping Fam from organising the replay.

However, Mzuni had the injunction vacated by Saturday paving way for the game to be played in Mzimba and they turned up the game.

Fam’s official Casper Jangale said: “The referee waited for the stipulated time for the teams to pitch up and after the time expired, he blew the whistle to mark the end of the game in favour of Mzuni since Kaporo did not show up.”

Mzuni now join Surestream FC and Dedza Young Soccer in the TNM Super League.

Pannar Seed Malawi Limited officially committed to be a full sponsor of the side.

According to Pannar Seed Malawi Limited managing director Nicholas Bennett, the company will be providing Mzuni FC with jerseys, socks, boots and fuel for the team’s sojourn.

Kaprlo were not just stubborn for themselves. behind them there is a team which has been sponsering their rudness. Who ever advised kaporo is not a good adviser. I hear a legal expert was involved .Does the lawyer understand football rules?

Now to FAM officials. Do not poke too much into the affairs of your affiliates. You should have digested the motive behind Kaporo’s argument . What I see here is the supremacy of the Northern region league officials over FAM officials. Why? The decision passed by FAM just exactly what the North officials did. What a waste of resources
