Mzuzu United frustrate Silver to a 3-3 draw: Malawi TNM Super League

TNM Super League debutants Mzuzu United on Saturday stood to the ground to deny Silver Strikers from collecting three points in their opening assignment in the northern region.

The well patronized game ended in a 3-3 deadlock.

The defending champions scored their three goals through Frank Banda and Rodrick Gonani who notched a brace.

The rookies responded through Khumbo Ng’ambi , Liston Sabuli and Mada Chiumia.

The Mzuzu United coach Christopher Nyambose  praised is players for  “great fighting spirit”.

The Bankers complete their northern region assignment on Sunday  when they face the Kaning’ina soldiers Moyale Barracks at the same venue-Mzuzu stadium.

They now have five points from three matches having beaten city rivals Civo United 1-0 and drew against Kamuzu Barracks 0-0 in the opening two weeks.

At the Nankhaka stadium, current league leaders Blue Eagles failed to extend their lead after being forced to a goalless draw by visiting Zomba soldiers Red Lions.

Blue Eagles remain on top with nine points from four games.
