Nangwale, Sikwese recalled from Malawi embassy in UK

Malawi government has recalled two officials working at the High Commission in London, Mary Nangwale and Colonel Sikwese, Nyasa Times understands.

Nangwale, who is former police chief, was working as first secretary (political affairs) while Sikwese was a security attaché.

Sikwese will go back to Malawi Defence Force.

Nangwale: Recalled

Nangwale who was advisors of the former ruling DPP’s external wing in UK, reluctantly confirmed her recall.

According to Foreign Affairs Secretary, Patrick Kabambe, it is a normal exercise for government to changes its diplomatic personnel.

President Joyce Banda recently appointed Bernard Sande as Malawi’s High Commissioner to Britain. Sande was approved by parliament and will soon start work in London.
