Nankhumwa finally accepts defeat: Forms his party a month after denying the same

In a statement released on the same the development has been described as a beacon of progress and inclusivity in the political landscape.

“We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the Peoples Development Party (PDP), a beacon of progress and inclusivity in the political landscape. With a steadfast commitment to fostering sustainable development and empowering communities, the PDP emerges as a vehicle for positive change and collective prosperity,” read the statement in part.

The party leadership has since extended deepest gratitude to the National Planning Commission (NPC) and the office of the Registrar of Political Parties for their invaluable support and guidance throughout the registration process.

“Their unwavering dedication to upholding democratic principles has paved way for the birth of our party enabling us to embark on this transformative journey. As we embark on this historic endeavor, we assure the public that the interim leadership of the PDP will convene a press conference in the near future,” read the statement.

In the statement PDP believes that the formation of the party will provide an opportunity to outline their vision, mission, and core values, as well as introduce the esteemed individuals who will lead the party in an interim capacity as they prepare for a national conference to be held later this year.

“The Peoples Development Party (PDP) stands poised to champion the aspirations of the people, advocate for meaningful change, and chart a course towards a brighter future for all. Together, let us forge a path of progress and prosperity, united in our pursuit of a better tomorrow,” reads the statement.
