Nankhumwa lauded for ‘civility sermon’ at DPP-UDF rally
Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice-president (responsible for the South) Kondwani Nankhumwa has been praised by commentators for his “civility” speech on Sunday during DPP and United Democratic Front (UDF) mass political rally that was held at Njamba Freedom Park on Sunday.

A social and governance commentator Makhumbo Munthali praised Nankhumwa for the substance in his speech which was made before UDF leader Atupele Muluzi and President Peter Mutharika addressed the crowds.
Nankhumwa in his speech asked the party followers to seek God’s intervention ahead of May 19 fresh presidential election.
“The only positive we got from Njamba Freedom Park is Honourable Kondwani Nnakhumwa speech,” Munthali pointed out . “There was civility in Nankhumwa sermon.”
In his speech, Nankhumwa said: “King Solomon, had everything at his disposal such as wealth and wisdom but he still asked God to intervene in all areas of his life. As a party, let us emulate this gesture throughout the campaign period.
“Do not keep grudges, forgive one another and above all forgive one another,” said Nankhumwa.
He said the party was ready for the fresh election.
“We are ready to give President Peter Mutharika fresh mandate in the next elections because we want continuation of development such as tarmac roads and community technical colleges,” said Nankhumwa.
In his remarks, Muluzi said the alliance of the two parties is a sign for continuation of development of the country.
“We opted for DPP because of its political values and ideologies such as peace and stability, democracy and also development . This is what UDF hopes for,” he said.
Muluzi said UDF chose an electoral alliance with DPP because the past nine months Mutharika has shown that he is patient and peace –loving person among other attributes.

The Nankhumwa that spoke at the rally showed us that he is in the wrong camp. He did not speak in line with the ideologies and principles of the DPP. Certainly, what we heard from his comrades told a different story. The secretary-general said she is a witch and that she exactly does what she decides – killing. This alone sent the crowd into a frenzy! They ululated, they whistled, they shouted the deafening Yeaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!. Its exactly what their ears itched to hear! They wanted someone to burst the human rights defenders in totality. So yes she did in defiance of the wisdom that Nakhumwa had shared earlier. Well done brother Nakhumwa. People need to fear God in all their endeavors and politics is no exception! This politics of hatred is what we already dealt with in the 1994 elections. There is no need to bring it back!
This guy is special…every time he speaks , he talks sense……sangaonerepo enawo
if DPP torch bearer will be Nankhumwa, I will vote for DPP all day!
Bolani kusakhale kuzigulila malo
A dpp onse ofunika azimwa mankhwala olela. Asazabelekeso. Akutipasa zitsilu. Nakkhumwa s father was a Tonga. Ena anangopakidwa. No wonder he is logical.
I like this guy. He talks sense!

UDF joined DPP to be totally swallowed and finished as a party by DPP. Atupere and fellow Chawas are the most foolish people who have ever walked the face of the earth.
Don’t put all Yaos in one basket. That is the most stupid mistakes people make. Stereotype.
There are still some civilised DPP leaders our there. Nankhumwa’s speech is a welcome departure from what some warlords preach whenever given a podium. Munthu mpaka froathing at the mouth and cm shaking with emotional hatred.
Sad, isn’t it?
Nankhumwa ekhayi uyu u minister okha tizampasa tikatenga bomali
Namkumwa’s face tells a story.
Nankhumwa said that he does not know the date for fresh elections (as point of correction bwana Munthali). His speech was really unifying. This is normal, you cannot expect all speakers to take similar approach. I wish you added Atupele as another good speaker on the day, in case you listened to him.
Umupange add iweyo atupele wakoyo
For Atupele you are wrong , his greati Enemy is Chilima , in his speech he indirectly attacked Chilima by saying that We the youth dont appreciate, and lacks calmness, He believe that Chilima has stole his youth vote and he is his Enemy,
