In a press statement released today, Nankhumwa described the allegations as entirely unfounded and should be disregarded.

He has since accused some Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) parliamentarians of attempting to exploit his name in the context of the Age Limit Bill Reintroduction, with the sole purpose of garnering political sympathy from the public.

Nankhumwa adds that his resolve to challenge and compete in the political arena remains steadfast, saying he is prepared to confront any opponent, including Peter Mutharika, on the presidential ballot in the 2025 general election.

The sentiments came when some activists and religious leaders warned some Members of Parliament against discussing the Age Limit Bill in Parliament, advising them to deliberate on important issues that will eventually address the social economic challenges rocking the country.
