Ndirande health centre to have a new theater wing — Minister
Government Thursday said it is going to construct a theater and extend the maternity wing at Ndirande Health Centre.
Speaking in Parliament Minister of Health Dr Peter Kumpalume said government has put in place plans to construct a theater wing.
“We want to build a theater wing and extend the maternity wing at Ndirande Health centre but we have prioritized the construction of a theater wing due to the land which is there. There are plans to ask the city council to provide us with some land for the Health Centre,” said Kumpalume.
He further said as a health sector there are making sure that people in the country have good access to health services; therefore government wants to construct staff houses close to the health centres.
“The district health office already allocated an ambulance to the Ndirande health center but it was withdrawn due to lack of security and housing of staff,” explained Kumpalume.
Commenting on the matter Member of Parliament for the area Themba Mkandawire said that the ambulance would be safe and taken care of if it is provided now than before.
Ndirande health center caters for approximately 200 000 people within the area.
