New record label in Malawi: Three artists signed
A new music record label, Fresh arts music group has been revealed and so far three upcoming artists have been signed.
Owned by Ireland based Eric Barigeya and Harry Hashim, the label has signed Bizzy B, Phrey Willz and Phexado.
Confirming the news on Wednesday, Fresh arts music group country manager Sean Wayne Kamphulusa said the label has been sponsoring the artists through studio time, promotion and any other money related issues and they were waiting to finalize the paperwork before making it public.
“As of now I can confirm that the paperwork has been done and more music will be released before the end of the month,” disclosed DJ Wayne who also works for Dziko FM.
He added: “Right now we want to promote Bizzy B video which features Kell Kay as well as Phexado’s video “Kamafuna ndikale” which is on the way. Phrey Willz is also working on his video with Martse which will be released next year but the audio is already making noise on all local radio stations.”
According to the country manager, Fresh arts music group will be signing more artists next year.
“We are looking forward to working with young artists with hidden talents,” he said.
Commenting on his SoundFreak Entertainment company which he formed with DJ Maya, DJ Wayne said the company was still doing more in events management.
“SoundFreak is still here and breathing. We are still managing a few artists, managing events and providing DJ services. 2016 has been a good year for us. We took part in almost all the big events this year. You talk of Sand festival, Kcee show, Heavy K shows, Busy Signal’s show and now Mafikizolo’s show slated for 22 and 23 December. Expect more fire in 2017,” DJ Wayne promised.
That’s a very welcoming development I hope this record label will help to uplift and expose young and upcoming artists to both local and international levels
