Ngalande completes move to Europe

After being inactive for about six months, Malawi national team on and off attacker Robbin Ngalande has signed a short term deal with Azerbaijan club Zira Fc with a possibility to extend at the end of the 2019 season.

He has landed the deal alongside former South Africa’s Baroka FC midfielder Mpho Kgaswane on a free transfer.

Their new club is currently bottom of the eight-team log, with 10 points from 14 games, and will be hoping the Botswana and Malawi internationals will help propel them up the table in the second round of the season.

Ngalande has never settled at a club. At his peak, he stunned many by dumping Atletico Madrid youth side in Spain and opted to come back to Africa.

At 25, he has played for PSL sides Mamelodi Sundowns, Platinum Stars, Bidvest Wits, Ajax Cape Town and Baroka.

He also played for Lilongwe-based side Masters Security FC at the start for the 2017 TNM Super League season and scored five goals before moving to Baroka.

While at Baroka, he scored three goals and managed two assists for Baroka in 26 appearances.

Azerbajian Is a land locked cointry in caucasus region of Euroasia at the cross roads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
