Ngalande in for crocked Chiukepo ahead of Bafana friendly

Malawi national football team striker Chiukepo Msowoya has been ruled out of next week’s friendly encounter against South Africa after picking an injury on Saturday during a Super League match his Escom United club played against Moyale Barracks.
Flames manager Stewart Mbolembole told Nyasa Times that Msowoya has been replaced with Wits University slippery striker Robin Ngalande.

Ngalande was left out in the 22-man squad to the surprise of many Malawians soccer followers.

Mbolembole said Msowoya got injured in their 3-1 defeat in the hands of Moyale on Saturday in a fierce encounter which took place at Zomba Community Centre Ground.

Ngalande:In Flames squa

Last week Flames coach Kinnah Phiri told Nyasa Times that he left out Ngalande due to lack of game time at his club.

“I have left out Ngalande because he is not playing at his club. The other reason is that the player has not been picking up calls to find out on whether he is fully fit because last time he came for Ghana game he was complaining of an injury,” said Phiri.

The localy based players who include Moses ‘Luba’ Chavula, Joseph Kamwendo, Foster Namwera, Micium Mhone, Gabadihno Mhango, Steven Chagoma, Philip Masiye are expected to leave for the rainbow nation on Monday, December 17 before meeting foreign based players.

The friendly match will take place in Durban.
