Dedza Young Soccer demolished Dowa United 5-0 to earn promotion to the country’s top league side.

The Ajax Cape Town player started his career a Dedza Young Soccer before he was signed Civo United where he played just for a season following his move to South Africa’s giants Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I am very humbled to be a product of Dedza Young Soccer FC,” Ngalande posted on his Facebook page.

“I am so happy for my childhood team’s promotion to the Super League of Malawi. If it was not for them I would not be where I am now.”

Ngalande, who also had a stint with Spanish top league side Atletico Madrid Reserve, has also played for Moroka Swallows.

He is currently part of the reliable players for the national team.

Young Soccer earned the historic promotion after the 5-0 triumph over Dowa United with Davie Balaka scoring four goals while Chisomo Gillion drove the last nail on Dowa United’s coffin.

They needed a win to secure the promotion to finish with an unassailable 89 points over their rivals Support Battalion who were held to a goalless draw by Wimbe United in Kasungu.

Support Battalion’s draw was dent in their bid for the top league action as they settled for second position.
