Ng’ambi not for sale – at any price, Platinum says
South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Platinum Stars has emphasized that the club will not be persuaded by any club to sell its Malawian international midfielder Robert Ng’ambi.
Platinum Chairperson Ratanang Nke disclosed this recently when he visited Malawi to attend the colourful wedding ceremony of Ng’ambi which took place in the commercial city of Blantyre over the past weekend.
Nke said his club is aware that several clubs including Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United are eager to sign Ng’ambi.
But he said Paltinum has taken the top-level decision that the player will not be sold no matter how much mone. Their stance is irreversible.
“It is not a secret that some teams have expressed interest to sign Robert because of his impressive form, but I am sorry to say they are not gonna [going] get him. We have no plans to sell him, he is one of our key players and he has been exceptional and consistent for the past two seasons” said Nke.
He however confessed that the future of Platinum at the moment relies in Ng’ambi’s hands.
Meanwhile, Nke has also revealed that his club is interested to invite four undisclosed Malawian players to try their luck at Platinum Stars.
“There are about four players that we may look at but I wouldn’t want to disclose their identities now,” he said.
