Nigeria’s Ric Hassani to perform at Malawi Lake of Stars 2015

Ric Hassani, one of Nigeria’s celebrated artists famed for his hit song “Dance Dance Baby”, has been unveiled as one of the international acts to perform at this year’s Lake of Stars (LoS) festival.

The three-day 2015 LoS is scheduled for 25-27 September at the Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in the lakeshore district of Mangochi.

“For the first time, a Nigerian act comes to Lake of Stars: Ric Hassani of ‘Dance Dance Baby Dance’ fame.” Announced the LoS on Wednesday via their official Facebook page.

It was however not indicated if Ric Hassani will be the main headliner at the festival which was headlined by South Africa’s Mafikizolo last year.

But LoS disclosed “He’ll be joined by the [Scottish] cutting-edge hip-hop trio Young Fathers, winners of the prestigious 2014 Mercury Prize and Scottish Album of the Year”.

According to the announcement, the first Malawian acts to be confirmed include hip-hop sensationGwamba, the recent MUMA Awards Best RnB Artist Danny Kalima aka Sirius, as well as up-and-coming singer-songwriter George Kalukusha.

Lake of Stars is expected to be announcing many more acts over the coming months.

Meanwhile, tickets to the three-day festival of music, dance, poetry, theatre, science, and art willgo on sale this Friday.

As announced, a Super Early Bird three-day ticket will sell for K19,000 for a strictly limited time.

The tickets will currently be selling in Lilongwe at Papaya (Game Complex) and in Blantyre at Café Ameca at Cure.

“K1,000 from each ticket will go towards flood relief efforts in Mangochi. Tickets also go on sale online on Friday 6 March through PLANKTON.mobi for those in Africa, and internationally through Gigantic Tickets.

“And remember, Lake of Stars is an event for all the family! This year there will be more activities for children than ever, and kids under 12 get in free!” indicated the LoS organisers.

Ujeni or what stupid name of yours.The name Nigeria is great all over the world, so if like go and jump inside lake Malawi coz of Nija artist is coming to Malawi. If like it or not Nija is taking world number one in any entertainment. Go and Die
