Nkacha first made a breakthrough but he did not succeed after sustaining an injury during training with the national team.

“I am happy to bounce back to the national team after a long time” said Nkacha.

However, the player said his call up did not come as a surprise as he has been working hard and perfomed impressively.

“I was depressed with that injury but I am happy that I managed to recover and improve my perfomance afterwards hence attracting the attention of national team coaches”

“I am ready to work and I will fight for my country if included in the final squad” said Nkacha.

According to Nkacha, his call up did not come as a surprise.

“This did not come as a surprise to me and even to those who have been watching me; no one can question my inclusion” he said.

Malawi is preparing for the 2018 World Cup qualification first-round tie away against the neighbours on October 7 with the second leg set for Kamuzu Stadium five days later.

The Flames and other 25 teams, from position 28 to 53 according to July Fifa ranking, will participate in the first round with 13 winners advancing to the second round. If successful against Tanzania, Malawi will face North Africans Algeria in second round.

The 13 teams then join 27 top-ranked teams on the continent to play home-and-away over two legs with the 20 winners advancing to the third round.

The 20 teams will be divided into five groups of four teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches and five group winners will qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
