Nomads bring in Osman as technical director
Mighty Wanderers has hired the services of seasoned and experienced tactician Yasin ‘teacher’ Osman as their new Technical Director with immediate effect as he returns to club football.
Wanderers chairman George Chamangwana confirmed to Nyasa Times that “with a wealth of football experience behind him” Osman will work with head coach Gerald Phiri as the club embarks on the second half of the season.
Chamangwana said: “’I’m very happy that Yasin Osman has joined us as I know his expertise will be invaluable as we enter the remaining months of the season.”
Osman confirmed of his new role at Lali Lubani Road and described it as an honour to serve the team he loves since his childhood.
“I have been a Nomad since I was young and I know the roots of the team and this appointment I accept it wholeheartedly and I will serve to the best of my capability,” Osman said.
“I look forward to sharing ideas and listening to advice, to ensure Wanderers reclaim its giant status,” he said.
“I am excited to be back and be a part of this team,” Osman told Nyasa Times.
He replaces Kannock Munde who has been appointed as assistant coach to Gerald Phiri.
Osman previously coached Wanderers before he joined Football Association of Malawi (FAM) as Chief Executive Officer. He has a proven track record as football tactician and understands full well what it takes to succeed.
Mighty Wanderers will be facing Blue Eagles in the TNM Super League this Saturday at Balata stadium.
