Nomads duo in Botswana at Township Rollers

Mighty Wanderers will play their TNM Super League last encounter before they wrap up the 2012-2013 first round without their two key players, who are currently in Botswana on trials.

The players Alfred Manyozo and Innocent Jere sneaked out of this country last week to Township Rollers on two weeks trials.

Mighty Wanderers general secretary David Kanyenda confirmed the news with Nyasa Times.

Kanyenda said that the two players are in Botswana on two weeks trials and that they are expected to be back in the country after finishing.

If the duo will be successful with their trials they will join former Nomads midfielder Lawrence ‘Tico Tico’ Majawa, who is also at Township Rollers.

“We are aware that the two players are at Township Rollers on trials and that after that they will be back in the country to wait for the outcome,” said Kanyenda.

On reports that the Nomads are intending to beef up their squad with Silver Strikers striker Tony Chitsulo and Civo United hit-man Martin Masoatheka, he downplayed them.

“They are not our players so no need for us to talk about them.”

However, according to Nyasa Times investigation, the Civo United striker was reportedly in Blantyre last Sunday, where he met the Nomads chairman, George Chamangwana to discuss on a possible move to Lali-Lubani Road.

It is also reportedly that the striker spent a night at the chairman’s house before heading back to the capital city on Monday.

Adding on the Nomads injury list is their first choice goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa, who sustained a shoulder injury during their 2-0 victory to Blue Eagles.

According to Kanyenda, the goalkeeper will be out of action for a period of two weeks.

The Nomads are supposed to travel to Nchalo on Sunday to face Escom United though there is a crash of fixtures.

“What we know is that we have a game against Escom United over the weekend but in actual sense we are confused because Sulom says we are meeting Escom on Sunday while Fam has also organized another fixture for us  in the Standard Bank against the same team on Saturday. We do not know which is which until they explain to us,” said Kanyenda.
