Nomads goalkeeper Chipuwa likely to be out for three weeks with groin injury
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a groin injury during training.
That is according to the Nomads team manager Steve Madeira, who told Nyasa Times on Thursday that Chipuwa could be out for at least three weeks after suffering a groin injury.
The former Zomba United custodian returned from the central region, where they beat Dedza Young Soccer unharmed only to pick up the injury in his first training session back.
Madeira said Chipuwa has been ruled out of Sunday’s encounter against Fisds Wizards in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
“We will miss his services but we have backup and nothing to worry,” he said.
He said they are taking Sunday’s game seriously because they are aiming to finish in top 4.
The Nomads, who have been left with three games against Fisd Wizards, Airborne Rangers and Red Lions, are on position 6 with 36 points on the log table.
Meanwhile, Blue Eagles displaced Silver Strikers on third slot after their Wednesday’s 1-0 victory against Red Lions at Kamuzu Stadium.
The area 30 Cops are on third position with 42 points behind Mafco FC and Big Bullets who are champions.
