Nomads to parade Fisd Cup: Gaffar brothers spoil players
Be Forward Wanderers players have all the reasons to smile after the clubs board of trustees chair Rashid ‘Rashy’ Gaffar and honourary trustee Aslam Gaffar rewarded them with K2 million for winning the inaugural Fisd Challenge Cup.
The Nomads pruned Kamuzu Barracks 4-3 in post-match penalties on Sunday to win their second silverware this season after the Carlsberg Cup.
The club’s team manager Stevie Madeira confirmed that it pleased the two trustees to reward the players.
They each gave the team K1 million.
The two businessmen also rewarded goalkeeper’s trainer Vales Kamzere with K250,000 for an outstanding perfomance during the game.
Prior to the game,Gaffar visited the team at Chilambula Lodge where he gave them a motivational talk before promising them K1 million for a win.
The business tycoon also had luncheon with the players before the game.
In the morning before the game, the players had also a prayer session where they shared the Word of God.
Striker Peter Wadabwa led his colleagues with a Bible study assisted by Amos Bello and Isaac KaliatI.
Meanwhile,the team is planning for a trophy parade in the city of Blantyre.
