But there  was controversy on the position of Vice-Treasurer after the voters rebuffed to endorse Richard Kambalame for the post after his only challenger former team manager Chiyembekezo Zidana pulled out at the eleventh hour.

The players and supporters chanted, “ Sitikumufuna” as the other section of the fans were also chanting songs praising Kambalame.

Southern Region Football Committee Treasurer Daud Mthanthiko, who represented Football Association of Malawi at the polls intervened to defer the election of the post.

“In the interest of law and order I would like to defer the results because there is confusion over the confirmation of Kambalame,” Mthanthiko, who declared the elections free and fair, said.

But  Hubert Mfune was booted out of the executive after serving as Vice-General Secretary in the previous committee.

Mfune lost to Mike Butao 145 and 106 in the only positions which had candidates competing.

The following members Chulu Nkangama, Onani Chaponda, Patrick Tsonga, Duncan Jumbe, Eric Nkhoma were endorsed as committee members after the other two candidates Hopeson Wawanya and Wisdom Malunga failed to show up.

FAM and Mighty Wanderers Board of Trustees chairman James Chuma described the elections free and fair with no element of violence.

In his acceptance speech, Chamangwana hailed the fans for their support and assured them that his ambition together with the entire committee is to win the League.

Chamangwana also urged the entire Nomads family to unite and forget their differences by working together for the success of the club.
