Nomads, Silver in crucial TNM Super League tie
Mighty Wanderers will have to rely on a patched-up side and put a taxing few days behind them when they face their fellow TNM Super League title contenders, Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium in the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe on Saturday.
The Bankers, who have 42 points from 25 games are basking on second slot on the log table while the Nomads are on seventh place with 38 points having played 24 times.
The Bankers mentor Thom Mkorongo has vowed to give the Nomads more blues come Saturday.
“We are ready to collect maximum three points. Having drawn with Big Bullets last weekend we cannot afford to drop points to another Blantyre giant,” said Mkorongo.
However, Mighty Wanderers Team Manager Mac Hodges Chunga has warned the Bankers not to underrate them as they invade the capital city.
Chunga’s side will be without a number of key players as their talisman Joseph ‘Shakira’ Kamwendo is on trials in Turkey.
“We are not shaken with Silver. We are set t for the game, “said Chunga.
The Bankers, who will miss the services of Jester Mulima due to an injury will bank their hopes on Asedi Ayami, Harvey Mkacha, Peter ‘Pido’ Pindani and Dave Moya while on the other camp Alfred Manyozo, Nafe Msasa, Innocent Jere, Foster ‘Zagaf’ Namwera, Maxwell Chirwa are set to keep the Nomads rolling
Another tricky fixture will be at the soccer mecca Kamuzu Stadium, as main title contenders Civo United will take on Azam Tigers who have recruited former Silver coach Meke Mwase as an assistant to Leo Mpulula.
The Civil Servants are on fourth position having played 24 games while the Kau-Kau boys are on eleventh place with 34 points.
