As the drama surrounding Northern Region Football Association League continues, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has staged a hearing of the controversy surrounding the championship of the league.
Nyasa Times understand that the hearing will take place on Friday 27th March, 2015 at the Chiwembe Technical Centre offices in Blantyre.
Well placed sourced confided in Nyasa Times that the list of summoned parties include Kapolo Stars; a team which boycotted the last game of the season set by the association.
The association ordered Kapolo to play against the “boardroom” crowned champions Mzuni F.C. claiming their previous encounter which Kapolo won 1-0 ended prematurely.
This did not go well with second placed Chilumba Barracks and other stakeholders and accused the Northern Region Football Association of favoring Mzuni.
NRFA went on to hand Mzuni three points after Kapolo failed to show up.
The free points proved to be vital for Mzuni as they emerged champions with a point ahead of runners up Chilumba Barracks.
The development forced Chilumba to write a complaint to FAM.
The wrangles also did not go well with the sponsor of the Simama Northern Region Football Association League Bishop Abraham Simama who sponsors the league at a tune of K3 Million.
He recently warned that he is considering pulling out the sponsorship due to unprofessionalism by the administrators.
New twist of events. Meanwhile, one of the Executive Committee Members of the NRFAL Aubrey Simon Shaba has produced fresh revelations that the decisions to declare Mzuni champions and wrangle between Mzuni and Kapolo are illegal since the decision was made by few individuals.
“Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) has never met to discuss and elucidate the above highlighted topics i.e. [Wrangle between Chilumba Barracks FC and Mzuni FC over MDFL Simama Championship and Wrangle between Kaporo FC and MZUNI FC over a disputed game].”
Meanwhile, Mzuni F.C have already started preparations for the forthcoming 2015-16 TNM Super League season.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
