Nyasa BB hold Malawi Carlsberg Cup victory parade: ‘Kuti Nomads ipsye mtima’
Thousands of red-and-white-clad Nyasa Big Bullets fans have celebrated their team winning the prestigious Malawi Carlsberg Cup 2017 edition after beating their rivals Be Forward Wanderers.
An open-top bus parade left the capital city Lilongwe with Bullets chairman Noel Lipipa joining the celebrayions party and ended with the players celebrating with fans packed in roads up to the commercial capital Blantyre , the club;s base.
Coach Elia Kananji made the country;s histry as the only coach to have won the Carlsberg Cup more than any other coach. He is also the only coach to have won the cup twice with Wanderers and Bullets.
Kananji , however, said it is not a an individual achievement.
“ It takes supporters, officials, players to achieve this feat. Above all, God is the one who makes plans. Without Him we are nothing,” he said.
Vice-President Saulos Chilima, who is a staunch Bullets fan, was among thousands of spectators who watched Carlsberg Cup final.
