Nyasa Bullets vice chair Malinga quits
Sadiki Malinga has resigned as Nyasa Big Bullets vice-chairperson, denouncing the infighting that has rocked in the executive committee.
There had been bad blood off and on between Malinga, the Sam Chilunga-led executive committee, forcing players and supporters to demand the vice chairman’s resignation other there other officials.
Malinga resignation comes after former treasurer Noel Lipipa resigned on Thursday.
“It is with regret that I am writing to inform you that I am resigning from my position as vice-chairperson of Nyasa Big effective immediately,” reads the letter, which Chilunga addressed to Bullets Trustees chairperson James Busile on March 18 2016.Bullets executive committee
“My other commitments have become too great for me to fulfil the requirements of my position on the board and I feel it is best for me to make room for someone with time to devote to the position.”
Bullets vice-general secretary Kelvin Moyo, reacting to the resignation said: “A resignation of any executive member is regrettable.”
General secretary Titha Mandiza and vice-treasurer Alex Gondwe, are also facing resignation calls but are yet to announce their move.
But Mandiza said it is with “enormous regret” that he has to decide on the next step.
The club sponsors, cigarette manufacturers Nyasa gave Bullets seven days to sort out their infighting or lose their K500 million sponsorship.
The moment Bg Bullets gurus heard of the sponsorship they started sharpening knives and asked their wives to clean pots in readiness of ‘kusolola’. These people will never reform, once thieves, preying on gate collections, always thives. So much used to surviving on club money instead of letting the players benefit. Kufuna ma player azingodzikanda all the time while their bellies protrude with sausages; oh shame.
