OIBM opens another kiosk in Blantyre

The Opportunity International Bank of Malawi (OIBM) has opened another banking Kiosk in the city of Blantyre located in the second floor of the Everest House.

OIBM’s Marketing Manager, Gift Livata said the opening of the kiosk is one way of meeting the high demand for their banking services.

“We are a simple bank for the people. We don’t like to complicate matters for our customers. This is why most of the banking premises seem to be small. We usually have no chance to renovate our premises because our services are on high demand,” he said.

A visit to OIBM kiosk branches of Ndirande, Blantyre market, the newly opened Blantyre branch, (Kabula Kiosk) and its head office situated in Limbe, established that the banking premises for the Bank are too compacted.

At Blantyre Market and Ndirande, customers stand for a long time in the sun whilst waiting to be served, contrary to other Banks.

However, Livata said this is an indication that their services are on high demand and that the Bank offers better services to Malawians.

“Our Bank goes where the people are. We choose places where a lot of people are based to ease their access to banking,” he said.

To mark the opening of this new branch, the bank is calling upon Malawians to open accounts with them.

According to Livata, one can open an account with K 1, 400 and get a 10 percent interest every three months in a Kasupe Account which they have just introduced, adding that the account has no monthly charges.
