“They (PAC officials) have communicated that they had withdrawn from the talks, it was in newspapers and we have accepted their stance,” said Bamusi.

PAC executive director Robert Phiri expressed surprise that the presidential negotiation team has pulled out of the negotiations.

“It was surprising to receive an acceptance letter that we have pulled out of the talks, we never pulled out,” he said.

He said what the PAC chairman did was to express reservations on the way the presidential team was handling the talks but he never said PAC was pulling out.

Phiri  said PAC would continue talking to the presidential negotiation team on the matter.

PAC engaged the government on a number of issues affecting the country following a high level all inclusive PAC meeting a few months ago in Blantyre.
