Pastor Esau Banda says Malawi women must stay abreast with current affairs

Pastor Esau Banda of Pentecost International Christian Centre (PICC) has  advised women to take interest in current affairs.

Pastor Esau Banda: Women  should tech savy

“Women should not just watch movies on TV but they should be able to watch news and other current affairs programmes for them to know what is happening around the world,” Senior Pastor Esau Banda during the 2017 edition of women’s summit in Lilongwe.

He said gone are the days when a woman’s relevance was only measured by her expertise in the kitchen but now a woman’s relevance is measured by her prowess in knowledge of different things ranging from current affairs, technology and other social things.

Banda speaking during the annual women’s summits whose theme was “free at last” which was based on John 8 vs. 36 said it was sad to see women failing to hold conversations with their husband’s because of their lack of knowledge in diverse things.

“When husbands try talking to their wives on issues to do with current affairs, women even act surprised because they are clueless. Such simple issues can put off a man,” he said.

He also said that there were some women that had no interest in social media like WhatsApp and Facebook saying they are for young people yet their children and husbands spend their time there.

“Some women do not take interest in social media that is fine. They cannot be forced but they need to have some knowledge about that those sites. No wonder these days children have a lot of knowledge about the world than their parents because they read a lot of things on the internet,” he said.

He added, “These days you cannot survive if you do not read on diverse issues. It is important to read on issues that seem to be a challenge in your life. For example, if you are facing financial challenges, you need to gather knowledge on how to overcome this challenge. It is a different thing to just be praying about things and not taking action.”

Pastor Esau Banda has written over 30 books to do with different issues that affect Christians in their day to day lives, some of the books are Forgotten Practices In Marriage, Dry Bones Must Rise Again, This Mountain Must Move and The Hand of God just to mention a few.
