Phyzix features fiancée Jessie in new love song

Phyzix on Friday released two new singles one of which the hip-hop artist confirmed features his fiancée Jessie.

The wedding song, titled “Chikondi Chokoma”, also features Jessie’s baby sister, rising femcee Lady Pace and R&B singer Eddie.

“Jessie my fiancée is on the song rapping the hell out of the song, Malawi’s Beyonce and Jay Z,” Phyzix told Nyasa Showbiz.

“We came up with the song four of us just chilling at the crib. We thought we had something nice then we drove right away to the studio to record,” he explained how the song happened, adding “it was produced, mixed and mastered by my cousins Pro Pee and Tricky Beats.”

“I have always wanted to do a wedding song and the time is ripe so I have done one. It feels good and right at a time am all grown up, responsible and settled with plans of marriage,” he said.

In an interview, Phyzo said after repping the ghetto for ages, he had now decided to explore a new path and his focus would now be on love and feel good music.

“I have done the ghetto and hardcore hip hop proud I feel [and] no one can take that away from me, but it’s time to bridge the gap to a wider audience. I used to be a pissed off, angry, rebellious youth but now my life has taken a positive course.

“I want to see people enjoying my music at weddings, parties, clubs, in their cars and other places. I want my music to bring hope, joy, a smile, and dance. I want people to wish for a better life through my music,” he said.

The other new track which came out Friday is titled “Ineyo Ndilemera” which Phyzo features Lilongwe-based rapper Krazie G, produced, mixed and mastered by the Daredevilz.

“The song declares what is about to happen; us becoming filthy rich, about how the youth should focus on making something worthwhile out of themselves and about the roads traveled on this journey to success

“I believe in success, good health, happiness and abundance. I feel entitled to these because poverty and struggle is a sin in my eyes,” said the rapper who is due to release his sixth LP “Gamba wa Suit” next month.

Despite the new direction he has taken, the rapper however said he would still whip a few street bangers here and there like he did with “ChiNyimbo” a song that features Gwamba, Martse and Emm Q.

Phyzix has so far released four new singles off the upcoming LP. The other one track, a dance song which also features Eddie, is titled “Mwachibwana”.

While pointing out that the LP was done, the rapper also disclosed that he would start working on new music videos this month.
