The Powerful Minister (PM) in the governing Democrtaic Progressive Party (DPP) government, Kondwani Nankhumwa kept people waiting for more than three hours in Ntcheu at an event to install Ngoni chief Njolomelo.
The function could not be started on time as Ntcheu District Commissioner, Smart Gwedemula and officials were kept on waiting to receive the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Nankhumwa .
Nankhumwa, the strongman in DPP, did not apologise for coming late and keeping people waiting for long at the seat of the Njolomole chieftaincy at Mtchakhata.
The new T/A Njolomole has been installed to take over from Frackson Njolomole, who died at the age of 89 in 2016.
The minister could not be contacted for comments. However, his aide said he was a very busy person.
On Wednesday, Nankhumwa also installed Traditional Authority Kalolo to become the senior chief.
Kalolo, born Guilford Mpinganjira was installed as T/A Kalolo where Senior Chief Lukwa represented, His Majesty the Chewa King Kalongo Gawa Undi.
