Police arrest Phalombe woman who ganged up with son to kill hubby
A 25 year old woman in Phalombe is in police custody for allegedly ganging up with her 16 year old son in beating up her husband who consequently died.
Confirming the development Sunday, Phalombe Police Publicist Augustus Nkhwazi said the case involving the woman, Esnart Chinangwa of Ndalama Village Traditional Authority Chiwalo in the district was currently under investigation.
According to Nkhwazi the woman and her son allegedly beat the deceased, Wilfred Chinangwa over household disagreements.
On the material day the deceased came back home from fishing at around 4 pm and found his wife preparing lunch, and considering the time, the man ordered that the cooking should stop and that they should just wait for dinner since it was already late.
“This did not go well with the wife and her son, which led to a fight between the three,” Nkhwazi explained.
He added that after the deceased was overpowered neighbours rescued him from the two assailants and took him to Nambazo Health Centre where he was admitted and died the following day.
A postmortem that was conducted bat the Health Centre revealed that Chinangwa who hailed from Ndalama Village, Traditional Authority Chiwalo in the same district died of internal bleeding.
Meanwhile, Police are keeping the accused Esnart Chinangwa in custody as she awaits a court appearance where she will answer charges of murder.
