Police, immigration officers in a mix up over ‘racist’ German national facing deportation: He even insulted Malawi President
Immigration authorities have moved from Mzuzu to Lilongwe a 46 year old German national facing deportation as police prosecutors were waiting for him at Mzuzu mgistrates court where charges of insulting President Peter Mutharika were awaiting him.
Joseph Chauwa, public relations officer for the Immigration Department said Hinteregger Jurgen is now in Lilongwe awaiting his deportation flight back to his home in Germany.
“The police did not tell us that he was answering a case in Mzuzu,” said Chauwa.
However, Peter Kalaya, the police public relations officer in Mzuzu said the Immigration Department was informed that Jurgen insulted Mutharika and made racist remark against a driver of Strabag International, German constructing company where the suspect was manager.
The driver, according to police, drove a vehicle into metal bars, bursting its tyres, irking Jurgen.
The German company is constructing a 47 kilometre Mzuzu to Nkhata Bay.

The issue is not about kutukwana but the DPP party wanted some tips from strabag even if they compromise the figure with the quality of the road .DPP will not care about the road. So the The project manager for strabag refused to give bribes to a party hence the deportation of the manager. That’s very sad . They wanted road gate za maizegate sizinakukwane?
A black person can call another black person a monkey, no problem. But when a white person calls a black person the same, there’s a big problem. I commend the authorities for deporting the German. I’m however indifferent on the insults to the president. He didn’t insult the president based on racial lines but because of his actions pertaining to how he runs the country of which he deserves it.
This is why foreigners take Malawians for a ride. For some of you who think this is not an issue, you must broaden your horizons a little. Calling a black man monkey is derogatory term that has been used by white people to demean Africans for centuries. When you are called a monkey, the white man literally says you are a subhuman creature. Now when 2 Malawians are calling ech other monkey, it’s usually playful and the connotation of it is not serious. Its all about context. The immigration are doing well to deport this man.
We can call each other all sorts of names in our family but that should not give green light for somebody outside to do so.So please Deport him as soon as possible.I am a Political but i do not agree with anybody insulting the President never mind a foreigner,neither should any foreigner insult my compatriot.

Whenever there is an argument between a foreigner and a malawian, this happens. As a way of dirty tactics, they say the foreigner insulted the president, when nothing of the sort happened. I mean, was Peter driving the Truck? Or perhaps he owned the steel bars the truck went over? Or maybe Chapondas bags of maize were being carried in the truck as Matola and thats why it had to reach that extent. Trumped up issues to win in a battle against a foreigner when clearly the driver was a MONKEY for popping a tyre on steel bars!
Then plz come and arrest all these folks who call each other ‘ monkey monkey’ here. We Malawians call each other all sorts of animal or bird names like: pumbwa iwe eeti, tachioneni ngati kadzidzi eeti, galu, fisi, nyani, khwangwala, etc. Is that racism? Some actions we take on racism are a mark or inferiority complex.
The only crime worth talking about here is the crime he committed by insulting the driver but for Peter Mutharika it is simply not an issue. Mutharika simply has to be insulted in immeasurable proportions because he simply deserves every single insult. Polls have shown that Mutharika is the least respected person in the country.
