Police investigating bizarre murder in Kasungu, arrests one
Malawi Police in Kasungu have launched an intensive investigation into a murder case where an adult man identified as George Phiri was recently murdered by unknown people who left his dead body cut in three pieces.
According to Kasungu Police Public Relations Officer, Harry Namwaza on 13 November, some villagers from Sub Traditional Authority Chaima went to a nearby bush to hunt and in the course of hunting they came across three pieces of a dead person.
“After immediate enquiries the dead body was identified to be that of George Phiri who was working as a watchman at Chaima Primary School,” said Namwaza.
Meanwhile, police have arrested Gezani Nkhoma, 54 for suspecting him of having a hand in the murder of Phiri.
Postmortem results showed that, death occurred due to severe blood loss.
Nkhoma comes from Chaima, STA Chaima in the district.
