Police launch special operation to net Blantyre murderers
Malawi police in Blantyre have launched a special operation to hunt down murderers that have killed some people in the past month, taking out body parts in some cases.
Blantyre police commissioner Demster Chigwenembe said this Friday at an executive meeting to review the security of the city following the increasing number of murder cases in the past weeks.
Chigwenembe frantically appealed to residents to work with the law enforcers by tipping them of suspected murder criminals in their respective areas.
He said the police can only deal with the matter if there is total cooperation from residents and promised the police would do all they can to bring peace in the city.
Misheck Munthali, Blantyre community policing chairman said the law enforcers needed more resources if they are to set up a grand battle against murders in the commercial city.
