Police nab notorious lakeshore lodges thief in Mangochi
Police in Mangochi are now assuring local and foreign tourists visiting the lakeshore district of Mangochi to spend their Christmas peacefully after law enforcers arrested a suspected notorious thief who has been terrorising lodges.
Police publicist in Mangochi, Rodrick Maida said 37 year old Action Maseya was cornered at an make shift roadblock in the district as he was driving around.
Maida said Maseya was found with two pistols, live ammunition and panga knives in his car.
He also said the police recovered seven mobile phones, two of who, have successfully been identified by their owners.
“He might have been planning to strike again during this festive season, we have thwarted his plans,” the police publicist said.
He said Maseya has been terrorising lodges in Mangochi and his arrest would bring peace in the lakeshore resort district.
Maseya comes from Mbawela village in chief Nsabwe’s area in Thyolo.
