Police quiz Chingola over illegal firearms, on bail: Updated
Deputy speaker of Parliament Jones Chingola was Wednesday morning interrogated by the Malawi Police over the illegal possession of firearms which were found at one of his offices.
Lilongwe police spokesperson Ramsey Mushane says this followed the search which the police carried at his offices after a tip off.
“We discovered in a same room two AK 47 rifles and two identified guns plus live ammunition,” he said.
Mushane says Chingola will soon be charged with illegal passion of firearms.
The police have so far confiscated four firearms.
