Mesn executive director Steve Duwa however disagreed with Mbendera that names of the new commissioners be announced before the current ones leave office on May 18.

He however said soon after the present commissioners leave office, new commissioners should be appointed immediately for continuity and do preparations for the 2019 general election.

The president appoints commissioners for the pollster in consulatation with leaders of political parties represented in parliament.
