Poly students celebrate social weekend in style

Students at Polytechnic a constituent college of the University of Malawi celebrated the weekend in style with their second semester social weekend bash which stretched from Friday to Saturday.

The bash started Friday night with a disco with students stomping their feet and partying all night long until Saturday evening where dancing came to climax with most dancers in funny regalia.

At some point, the students were dancing in the Masauko Chipembere highway sas the road passed through their campus.

In the evening, there were live performances by well known artists like Young Kay, Dictator, Gwamba, the dare devils, ‘Shadre’ of Kapirintiya, Revolver and Blak Jack.

The Polytechnic’s entertainment director, Alinafe Jason Mwatsika, said the social weekend was a success.

“Am glad with how my fellow students conducted themselves throughout the event as it was so entertaining with no incidents of violence or fighting among students and am hoping to see the same attitude in the future,” said Mwatsika.

As part of the celebration, some students were awarded for their success in academic as well as social lives. Social weekend is a bash that takes place at the college campus once per semester.
