People’s Party (PP) Members of Parliament (MPs) have kicked into touch the ball rolling against the party’s leader in the House, Raphael Mhone by informing the Speaker of Parliament — a motion of no confidence – for flouting parliamentary procedures when removing members from various committees.
According to Mzimba West MP Harry Mkandawire, Mhone has left the party parliamentarians with little option but to go through the Speaker that he should be removed.
Apart from Mkandawire, Mangochi Monkey Bay MP Raphael Juma and Welani Chilenga of Chitipa South are accusing of selfishness and cruelty in the way he is removing party members from committees. Against Parliament’s Standing Orders.
“We have written the Speaker to come up with a vote of no confidence to Mr Mhone. He is I a man who does not listen,” Mkandawire said.
Chilenga said Parliament should put a stop from entertaining Mhone to be breaching the House’s own Standing Orders.
Chilenga was recently moved from the parliamentary Committee on Climate and Natural Resources to Media and Communications Committee following reports that he had shown interest in joining the Democratic Progressive Party.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
