PPM’s Katsonga against recycled politicians

People’s Progressive Movement (PPM) president Mark Katonga Phiri says he is against tendency of recycling politicians at the expense of the youth.

Katsonga said the “greedy” politicians who are being recycled form one ruling party to the other are suffocating the growth of the country’s democracy.

He was speaking at  his home area, at Ligowe Trading Centre, Neno in Mwanza District on 19th August where he launched an AMPEX Trophy for boys and girls worthy K1 million to be competed by surrounding villages.

Katsonga: PPM is engaging the youth

Katsonga told journalists hinted that many politicians are there only to satisfy their needs and not representing their constituents that’s why they always dump their electorate and join the ruling party without consulting.

“If you check our cabinet, you will find that most of the ministers we have are those who started with Bakili Muluzi (UDF) then joined DPP and they are now with PP waiting for another party which will form the government in 201a,” said Katsonga.

“Nomadic and recycled politicians are a danger to democracy. Malawians should now start rejecting these politicians who change political parties anyhow,” he said.

Katsonga said PPM has roped in a number of youths to contest for parliamentary seats under its ticket in the 2014 elections.
