President Banda reshuffles Principal Secretaries
Malawi President Mrs Joyce Banda has reshuffled principal secretaries in a move that also brings back those that were once removed and assigned to other duties in various ministries by late president Bingu wa Mutharika.
The move, according to Office of President and Cabinet, is aimed at “strengthening performance in a number of ministries.”
Journalist Anthony Livuza who once served as PS in various ministries has been moved back to his area of expertise as controlling officer for Ministry of Information. He replaces James Kalilangwe who has been redeployed to the labour ministry.
The reshuffle has brought back former director of youth Justin Saidi who will be going back to the ministry youth, sports and culture.
Moffat Chitimbe is now PS for Ministry of Transport.
OPC official described the reshuffle of secretaries as part of restructuring to relocate people where they would be most effective.
