President Banda returns home

President Joyce Banda on Tuesday returned home from United States of America (USA) where she attended United Nations (UN) General Assembly meeting.

The plane Banda boarded touched down Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at exactly 12:25 pm and was welcomed by Vice President Khumbo Kachali, Leader of Opposition John Tembo, National Assembly Speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda, Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo, cabinet ministers and deputy ministers as well as party officials.

During UN General Assembly, President Banda made her first maiden speech as well as meeting different stakeholders to assist Malawi in different areas for the enhancement of national development.

When returning home, she had a two-day stop-over in South Africa where she also attended the Sixth Nedbank- Ecobank Investors Conference.

The President delivered a key note address in Sandton Financial Capital, Nedbank headquarters’ campus.
