Presidential aide Bamusi escapes death with minor injury in fatal car crash
Presidential advisor on civil society Mabvuto Bamusi has been involved in a fatal road accident Thursday morning.
He was driving his official Toyota Prado from Lilongwe to Blantyre.
The vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Sienta before it overturned, according to one eye witness in Dedza.
According to Sub Inspector for Dedza Police, Edward Kabango, the accident occurred at Nkutu village near Bembeke trading centre where the driver of the vehicle BS 7970 wanted to overtake another vehicle but collided with the vehicle CK 8560 which was driven by Bamusi, 40.
“There were 3 people who were in the vehicle which was being driven by Mr Bamusi and they all survived with minor injuries, whereas in the other vehicle two people died on the spot,” said Kabango.
The deceased are identified as Benson Magetsi, 36, driver of BS 7970 from Katsekaminga village Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in Dedza and Levison Chinyoka, 50, from Njolomole Traditional Authority Njolomole in Ntcheu.
Meanwhile the police are advising drivers to observe speed limits to avoid accidents.
