Prophet Bushiri’s Bible Upclose: A jealousy mind leads to a stagnant life, do not envy others for what they have

Jealous is defined as “feeling or showing an envious resentment of someone or their achievements, possessions, or perceived advantages.”Bushiri column

It is clear from the definition above that the societies we live in are deep into such feelings where people find it difficult to accept what others have achieved and the favour of God upon them.

When you let your heart and inner peace to be disturbed or angered by the success of others, you end up being a violent person within. You fight with your acceptance to such a truth, a thing that manifest physically to show outwardly the hate towards such people that are succeeding more in their lives than you.

The end result of such hate is usually a stagnant life. You spend more of your time plotting the downfall of others instead of working on your rise. I have grown up admiring and respecting people who are greater than me because it becomes my faith and prayer point to God.

I do not say to God, “Why did you bless others while I suffer,” instead I tell Him that “I know you can do it God. You did it to my friends and am inspired by that to say you can also fill my cup, prepare a table for me and lead me to greener pastures.”

Philippians 2:3 the word says “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Fighting others or making others a gossip topic for what they have is demonic. Accepting the blessings of others attracts blessings to your life because good things go to those who do good.

You might be wondering that you go to church, pray everyday and pay tithe every time you gain, but your life is stagnant, fails to move to your desired dreams. It might be as a result of the thoughts you hold about people who are doing well than yourself. The curses you do to others for doing better bounce back to you and hinder you from moving on. What would please God to bless you to have the things that you curse others for?

As my spiritual father, Prophet Uebert Angel once put it, “the problem of a rich man is a poor man.” In that saying, he simply means a lot of people who are financially challenged spend more time wishing for the downfall of others instead of spending time wishing and desiring for their own success. According to Proverbs 14:30 – A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.

I urge you all to celebrate the success of others as you make way for your own. Pray for them and learn from them. They might have knowledge that can change your mindset for better. Success for one should be success for all. Success can only follow those who respect it by respecting those who have encountered it because “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice – James 3:16, while where there is love, there is a way and a key to unlocking sealed doors. I bless you.
